Analog to Digital Convertor (ADC)
An Analog-to-Digital-Convertor is a semiconductor device that is used to convert an analog signal into a digital code. The reverse operation is performed by a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Analog-to-Digital-Convertors are typical found in devices such as Analog Telephone Adaptors that convert analog voice streams to digital packets so that they can be sent via an IP network.
