One of the few new products to catch my attention at the FALL VON Expo was the Linksys SPA962 Color ip phone. Stylish and functional in design, the Linksys SPA962 VoIP telephone is a must for businesses using a hosted IP telephony service, an IP PBX, or a large scale IP Centrex deployment. The Linksys SPA962 is a full color ip phone based off of the highly successful Linksys SPA942 ip phone. It is expected that the Linksys SPA962 will be released sometime in November with an estimated retail price of $299.99. The Linksys SPA962 Color IP Phone is one of the final addition’s to the Linksys Small Business VoIP line.
The Linksys SPA962 features six line appearances, Dual switched Ethernet ports, Speakerphone, Caller ID, Call Hold, Conferencing, an Appealing Four Inch, True Color Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), and supports 802.3af Power over Ethernet.
The Linksys SPA962 uses standard encryption protocols to provide secure remote provisioning and unobtrusive in-service software upgrades. Linksys secure remote provisioning tools include detailed performance measurement and troubleshooting features, enabling network providers to deliver high quality support to their subscribers. Remote provisioning also saves service providers the hassle and expense of managing, pre-loading, and re-configuring customer premise equipment (CPE).
