Can’t Port Your Number?

Neither could Tom!

VoIP and Gadget blogger Tom Keating had a whale of a post on his struggles with porting his number from Vonage to Charter Communications and SBC. I have heard numerous complaints from peers and family memebers who have had negative number porting issues, but none to the extent of Tom’s.

From Tom’s posting it seems that pure play providers hold a huge advantage over the cable/telco companies when it comes to number porting. I can only think that this customer service issue is only short term, but in it lies an opportunity for pure play VoIP providers to show customers the value in subscribing to their service.
