Speaking of Microsoft…

I use it as an “IM” at the office – but only for internal usage (and I have a phone to call my colleagues). To no one’s surprise they are offering below sea level pricing on outbound calling – so this is really a non-story right?
Well – let’s speculate for a second.
Microsoft has really been priming the VoIP pump of late. With OCS and ResponsePoint Microsoft is slowly entering the VoIP market (well, they did make a pretty big statement at IT EXPO) – poised to take this to the next level , could it be that Windows Live Messenger could be the basis for a unified communications tie-in?
Most likely a long-shot, but don’t be surprised if there aren’t some strong ties at some point.
