Office Communications Server 2007 Is a Threat

Microsoft is late to the game. Microsoft is entering a crowded space. But, Microsoft is Microsoft…and Microsoft is a threat to any and all players in this space. With the Commuinication Server 2007 and Office Communicator 2007, Microsoft now has a what everyone else has - and that is more than enough.

As somone who deals with small medium enterprises and VoIP deployments on a daily basis, I can say without a doubt that the name on the box (IP PBX) does not mean anything, unless it means it is easy to use, integrate, and manage. For small medium enterprises, and their even larger breathren, that are already using Microsoft products, the Communications Server 2007 and Office Communicator 2007 gives them everything they could get with any other system.

Nothing earth shattering about the solutions, but for the business, there is - it is easily integrates into the rest of their Microsoft systems infrastructure. Something most VoIP systems previously on the market failed to do.
