Grandstream GXP1200 Adds to Grandstreams Family of Phones

Grandstream Networks, a leading designer and manufacturer of next-generation IP voice and video products for broadband networks, today announced a new 2-line Sip phone that further expands the GXP Enterprise Sip phone series. The GXP1200 delivers 2 lines, 3 dynamic XML capable soft keys, dual network ports with integrated PoE, a backlit graphic LCD display and a sleek design. The GXP1200 is the third phone in the GXP Enterprise Sip phone portfolio and will retail for less than $100. The Grandstream GXP1200 delivers a powerful set of features with excellent voice clarity, a comprehensive set of advanced call features and broad compatibility with leading SIP platforms. Because the GXP1200 shares the same SIP stack and firmware as the GXP2000 and GXP2020, it is compatible with Avaya Communication Manager 3.1â„¢ and Avaya SIP Enablement Services 3.1â„¢, BroadSoft’s BroadWorks®, 3Com and asterisk-based platforms. The SIP stack for GXP series Sip phones is also verified by tekVizion (third party testing lab for Cisco Unified Call Managerâ„¢ 5.0).

Grandstream GXP1200 Additional Features

The GXP1200 SIP phone features 2 lines each with independent SIP account, dual switched 10M/100Mbps auto-sensing Ethernet ports with integrated PoE, headset jack, a 128×32 pixel backlit graphic LCD display, a full duplex speakerphone with advanced acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), three XML programmable context sensitive soft-keys, five navigation keys and eight dedicated function keys.

The GXP1200 supports a number of advanced telephony features such as call transfer, forward, park/retrieve, hold, mute, 3-way conference, visual message waiting indicator, multi-language support, security protection (SRTP, AES encryption of configuration file, and pending SIP over TLS), custom and distinctive ring-tones, as well as a broad range of voice codecs including G.711 (a/u-law), G.723.1, G.729A/B, G.726, GSM, iLBC, and G.722 (wideband).

Grandstream GXP1200 First Impressions

Grandstream is the dominant player in the under $100 space. Their latest offering will fit nicely in between their highly popular HandyTone 200 and the GXP2000. While many equate low cost with low quality, I have found that Grandstream has some of the lowest return rates in the IP Phone sector. So if you are looking for a low cost high feature IP phone for your next deployment, take a look at the Grandstream GXP1200.
