Aastra debuts color touchscreen VoIP phone

Move over snom 870. The Aastra 6739i is here.

Earlier today at the BroadSoft Connections executive conference Aastra formally announced the 6739i, a SIP based color touch screen. The latest desktop VoIP phone to hit the market touting a color touch screen.

The Aastra 6739i is a nine line powerhouse that features a large 5.7in full VGA (640×480) color touch screen, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetoth, USB port and Aastra’s Hi-Q audio technology. Everything you need from a phone – and more.

Now all this comes with a price.

The MSRP for the 6739i is $529.99 USD, so when Aastra said this phone was “high end” they meant it. But if you’re in the market for color touch screen IP phones you probably do care to much about price.

I actually had a sneak peak at the 6739i at IT Expo.

It struck me with its design. The user interface was solid and smooth with the touchscreen technology. It’s definitely Aastra’s best work to date.

Regardless of the quality and feature set, most will still comment that at an MSRP of $529.99 USD the 6739i is too pricey.

But when your dealing with “the executive that has everything”, spending a few hundred dollars is getting off cheap.
