In a report released by iSuppli, an electronics industry research firm, VoIP Equipment revenues are set to hit $11.9 Billion by 2010. Fueled by the growth of consumer and enterprise VoIP adoption, and the growth of the VoIP service provider sector, VoIP Equipment revenues are expected to see a compound annual growth rate of 24.7%. iSuppli estimated the VoIP Equipment revenues for 2005 at $3.95 Billion.

What is of most interest in this report is the growth rates of the individual VoIP Equipment market segments and what percentage of the overall revenue each of these segments account for. The enterprise/PBX market accounted for 46% of the total VoIP Equipment revenues in 2005, with residential accounting for 27%, and service provider infrastructure equipment accounting for another 27%. With revenues expecting to hit $5.6 Billion by 2010, it looks like IP PBX vendors and resellers are in the right position to ride a tremendous wave over the next five years.
