Grandstream Networks Acquires Step Digital, LLC

Grandstream, the manufacturer of the Grandstream GXV-3000 IP Video Phone announced that is has acquired Step Digital, a video algorithm software company. Step Digital develops specializes in real time video algorithms such as H.264, MPEG4, and other properiety video algorithms. It is likely that this acquisition comes as a result of an increase in demand for IP Video Communications products. Known for their low cost equipment, it is likely that this acquisition will also aide in the creation of products such as IP Video servers, and other IP Video equipment that has typically only been offered by manufacturers such as Polycom.
