Hey, you're new around here aren't ya? Did you know you can every post FREE in your EMAIL or via RSS? Oh and if you're a Twit like me you can follow me on Twitter HERE. Enjoy the post.

D-Link has recently released the D-Link DPH-10U Usb Voip phone. The D-Link DPH-10U is designed to work with any softphone client including skype, GoogleTalk, and Gizmo Project among others. The D-Link DPH-10U features a traditional PSTN dialing keypad, function keys, hardware echo canceller, no external power necessary, a built-in speaker and microphone. Overall, the D-Link DPH-10U is nothing special to write about.

The only reason I am writing about the D-Link DPH-10U is that it further highlights the points made by Martin Geddes about Usb phones, that I highlighted in this post yesterday. Yet another major manufacturer who does not get it. Sometimes I wonder if the engineers and product marketers have ever used Skype or any similar service prior to designing a product intended to be used with it. From what I can gather from most of products on the market for these services, the answer is no.
